Reporting Settings

Xenial Cloud Portal 4-Dot Menu Data Management Reporting

The Reporting menu provides editors used to configure the Xenial Reports and to define the calculations that are used in each report, including Sales and Speed of Service metrics.

Report Options

Use the Report Options editor to define options and date/period specifications for the selected report.

  1. From the Reporting menu, select Report Options.

  2. From the Report Menu Layout field, locate the applicable report category.

  3. To the left of the report category name, select the arrow to expand the report list.

  4. From the report list, select the report.

  5. From the Options section of Report Options, define the following:

    Option

    Description

    Custom Navigation Title

    Type a custom navigation title for the report.

    Custom Report Title

    Type a custom title for the report.

    Execute Automatically

    Toggle Yes to automatically generate the report without any prompt when Xenial Reports is accessed.

    Report Category

    From the dropdown, select a category assignment for the report.

    The report is assigned to the selected category on the Report Menu Layout screen and the Reports menu bar.

  6. From the Date/Period section of Report Options, define the following:

    Specification

    Description

    Calendar Type

    From the dropdown, select the calendar type to use when generating the report.

    Default Date

    From the dropdown, select the default date option to use when generating the report.

Use the Report Options editor to define how report categories and individual reports are sorted on the Reports module menu bar.

From the Report Menu Layout screen, select and drag the square to the left of the category names to sort them in the desired sequence.

To sort the reports within a category:

  1. To the left of the report category name, select the arrow to expand the report list.

  2. To the left of the report names, select and drag the control to sort the reports in the desired sequence.

Create Report Category

To create a new report category:

  1. From the upper-right of the Report Menu Layout screen, select Create Category.

  2. From the Create Category window, type the report category name.

  3. Select OK.

Named Calculations

Use the Named Calculations editor to define the calculations that are used in Xenial Reports, including Sales and Speed of Service metrics. Use the provided Formula Builder to create a formula consisting of selected variables and existing report calculations.

Sales Calculation

To define a Sales named calculation:

  1. From the Named Calculations page, select Add Calculation.

  2. From the Choose Named Calculation Type window, select Sales.

  3. Select Continue.

  4. From the General Options section, define the following:

    Setting

    Description

    Calculation Name

    Type a name for the report calculation.

    Named Code

    A unique code is required to identify the report calculation.

    This field is automatically populated when the Calculation Name is defined.

    Data Type

    Select the applicable data type that this calculation is used to determine.

    Description

    Type a description of the report calculation.

  5. From the Conditions section, add optional conditional statements to identify the order and/or item properties to include or exclude from the calculation.

  6. From the Formula Builder section, use the provided fields and operators to create a formula consisting of selected variables and calculations.

    Formulas are limited to 3000 characters.

  7. From the upper-right of the screen, select Save.

Speed of Service Calculation

To define a Speed of Service (SOS) named calculation:

  1. From the Named Calculations page, select Add Calculation.

  2. From the Choose Named Calculation Type window, select Speed of Service.

  3. Select Continue.

  4. From the General Options section, define the following:

    Setting

    Description

    Calculation Name

    Type a name for the report calculation.

    Named Code

    A unique code is required to identify the report calculation.

    This field is automatically populated when the Calculation Name is defined.

    Data Type

    Select the applicable data type that this calculation is used to determine.

    Description

    Type a description of the report calculation.

  5. From the Speed of Service > Start Event section, define the starting point of the service event to measure:

    Setting

    Description

    Event Level

    From the dropdown, select the level of the guest experience at which the service event starts:

    • Order - Order-level event at the POS.

    • Item Kitchen Timing - Kitchen event.

    • Vehicle - Drive-thru event.

    Event

    From the dropdown, select the specific event or action that designates the beginning of the service event to measure.

    The values available from this dropdown are determined by the selected Event Level.

    When Item Kitchen Timing is selected from the Event Level dropdown, define the following additional fields:

    Bump Type

    This field is only available when Item Bump is selected for the Event field.

    Select at least one type of bump event to include in the calculation.

    Method

    From the dropdown, select the desired method:

    • Min - Use the earliest timing value.

    • Max - Use the latest timing value.

    For the Item Arrival event, MIN is the default method.

    Kitchen Screen Name

    From the dropdown, select the applicable kitchen screens.

  6. From the Speed of Service > End Event section, define the ending point of the service event to measure:

    Event Level

    From the dropdown, select the level of the guest experience at which the service event ends:

    • Order - Order-level event at the POS.

    • Item Kitchen Timing - Kitchen event.

    • Vehicle - Drive-thru event.

    Event

    From the dropdown, select the specific event or action that designates the end of the service event to measure.

    The values available from this dropdown are determined by the selected Event Level.

    When Item Kitchen Timing is selected from the Event Level dropdown, define the following additional fields:

    Bump Type

    This field is only available when Item Bump is selected for the Event field.

    Select at least one type of bump event to include in the calculation.

    Method

    From the dropdown, select the desired method:

    • Min - Use the earliest timing value.

    • Max - Use the latest timing value.

    For the Item Arrival event, MIN is the default method.

    Kitchen Screen Name

    From the dropdown, select the applicable kitchen screens.

    The End Event may have different kitchen screens associated with it.

    For example, the user may wish to measure the time between the first item-level "Arrival" time on the "Assembly" kitchen screen to the last (manual) bump event on the Expo screens.

  7. From the Conditions section, add optional conditional statements to identify the Order Sources, Order Destinations, Product Tags, and/or Products to include or exclude from the calculation.

    For example, add a conditional statement to only include orders with an Order Destination of Drive Thru in the calculation.

  8. From the upper-right of the screen, select Save.
