About the Sticky Summary Pane

The Sticky Summary Pane displays the "All Day Count" for a kitchen display. The "All Day Count" refers to the total quantity of each order item from all active orders on the display.

The kitchen staff preparing the order items refers to the Sticky Summary Pane to quickly determine the order item quantities to prepare. The order item quantities are automatically updated as orders are bumped and new orders are added.

About the Forecast Pane

In store environments where products must be prepped ahead of customer demand, the kitchen staff can view production forecast data, eliminating the need to print and post reports from other systems.

The production forecast data (or build-to numbers) informs the kitchen staff how much of each product needs to be prepared for a specific period of time in order to meet the forecasted customer demand.

About the Sticky Ingredients Pane

The Sticky Ingredients Pane displays aggregated quantities of order item ingredients. The kitchen staff can refer to the pane to quickly determine the order item ingredients to prepare in order to fulfill the orders routed to their station.

The ingredient quantities are automatically updated as orders are bumped and new orders are added.

Ingredients Pane Decimal Place

Type the desired number of decimal places to use for ingredient quantities on the Sticky Ingredients Pane.

Ingredient Item Layout

From the dropdown, select the desired layout option for the Sticky Ingredients Pane:

  • Stack - (Default) Display the item ingredient quantity below the ingredient name.

  • Side By Side - Display the item ingredient name and quantity on the same line.

Max Ingredients Per Page

Type the maximum number of ingredients to display per page on the Ingredients Pane. The default is 10.

Auto Page Transition

Automatically rotate the pages of the Ingredients Pane when there are multiple pages of ingredients. The default is On.

Page Transition Time(s)

Type the number of minutes to display each page of the Ingredients Pane before automatically transitioning to the next page. The default is 3.

This field is only available when the Auto Page Transition toggle is set to On.

Show Average Service Time

Display the average service time in the footer of the kitchen display to notify the kitchen staff of their average Speed-of-Service (SoS).

Service time is calculated by subtracting the "Bump Time" of an order from its "Sent Time". The average service time is displayed on the kitchen display in a defined time interval.

When Show Average Service Time is enabled, specify the time interval at which to calculate the average service time:

  • Select one of the provided intervals or select Custom to define a custom interval.

  • In the Average Service Time field, type the custom interval (in minutes).

Upstream Screens

Select Add Screens to select the displays that are "upstream" of this display. Order items from the selected displays will also appear on this display.

About the Upstream Status Feature

Orders and combo meals are generally prepared at two or more different stations prior to final assembly and delivery to the customer. The Upstream Status feature indicates the status of order item components at other stations and disallows the bumping of an order from a kitchen display until all order item components are fully prepared.

See also Show Upstream Indicators on the Cells page of the Kitchen Screen Settings editor.

Upstream Screens for Hold Timer

Select Add Screens to select the upstream screens that trigger the Hold Timer on this display when corresponding orders are bumped from them.

The Hold Timer is the amount of time the order has been sitting in the ‘Hold’ area awaiting customer arrival. The Hold Timer starts when the order is bumped from the upstream screens.

Priority Order Destinations

Select Add Destinations to select the order destinations that can be sent to the display as "priority orders".

When XKM receives an order from the Ordering application with a priority flag, XKM identifies the order as a priority order and presents it on the kitchen display as follows:

  • "Priority Order" is displayed in the kitchen ticket header.

  • The order is displayed in the first cell of the order queue ahead of all other orders.

This notifies the kitchen staff that they need to prepare the priority order immediately before other orders in the queue.
