Payment BAMS (FirstData) (OPOS)

Xenial Cloud Portal Data Management Ordering Settings Hardware Peripherals

To define settings for a BAMS (FirstData) device with an OPOS connection:

  1. From the upper-right of the Peripherals area, select New Peripheral.

  2. From the Peripheral Type dropdown, select Payment.

  3. From the Peripheral Schema dropdown, select Payment BAMS (FirstData).

  4. From the Connection Type dropdown, select OPOS.

  5. Select Continue.

  6. Locate the Peripheral Type section.

    • Toggle Active to Active if the device is available for use at the site.

    • Multi-site users: To the right of the field, select the globe icon to define values for each site.

  7. Locate the Peripheral Configuration section.

    Field

    Description

    Peripheral Name

    Type a name for the device.

    Payment Platform

    From the dropdown, select BAMS.

    Vendor

    From the dropdown, select Ingenico.

    Model

    From the dropdown, select the device model.

    Show Tips Dialog

    Toggle Yes to display the dialog for guest tips when processing a payment for an order.

    Batch Timeout Seconds

    Type the number of seconds to wait to successfully process batch settlement commands before timing out.

    Enable Swipe Ahead

    Toggle Yes to allow guests to swipe their payment card and type their PIN (or sign for the transaction) BEFORE the cashier finishes entering the order. Once the order is entered, the guest approves the order total and the receipt prints. This feature speeds up the order tendering process.

    • This feature is not supported by all devices. If the feature is not supported, a message is displayed below the Enable Swipe Ahead toggle.

    Swipe Ahead Availability

    This field is only available when Enable Swipe Ahead is toggled Yes.

    From the dropdown, select the desired option:

    • On Order Create - The guest is able to swipe their payment card as soon as the order is started.

    • On Payment Selection - The guest is able to swipe their payment card as soon as the cashier selects the payment type.

  8. Locate the Connection Configuration section.

    • In the Logical Name field, type the name of the file that is linked to the physical device name. The file name specifies the address and physical connection of the device to the system.

    • In the Host Name field, type the name of the host associated with the device.

    • In the Port field, type the port number that is used to connect to the device.
