Customer Facing Display (OPOS)

Xenial Cloud Portal Data Management Ordering Settings Hardware Peripherals

To define settings for a customer facing display with an OPOS connection:

  1. From the upper-right of the Peripherals area, select New Peripheral.

  2. From the Peripheral Type dropdown, select Customer Facing Display.

  3. From the Peripheral Schema dropdown, select Customer Facing Display.

  4. From the Connection Type dropdown, select OPOS.

  5. Select Continue.

  6. Locate the Peripheral Type section.

    • Toggle Active to Active if the device is available for use at the site.

    • Multi-site users: From the right of the field, select the globe icon to define values for each site.

  7. From the Peripheral Configuration section, define the following:

    Setting

    Description

    Peripheral Name

    Type a name for the device.

    Welcome/Idle Line 1

    Type a message to welcome customers to the store. This message appears on the first line of the display when the device is idle (i.e. not displaying order information).

    Welcome/Idle Line 2

    Type an extended message for customers (if desired). This message appears on the second line of the display when the device is idle.

    Closed Line 1

    Type a message to indicate the terminal is closed. This message appears on the first line of the display.

    Closed Line 2

    Type an extended message to indicate the terminal is closed (if desired). This message appears on the second line of the display.

  8. Locate the Connection Configuration section.

    Field

    Description

    Logical Name

    Type the name of the file that is linked to the physical device name. The file name specifies the address and physical connection of the device to the system.

    Host Name

    Type the name of the host associated with the device.

    Port

    Type the port number that is used to connect to the device.

    Log Level

    From the dropdown, select the desired level of logging to save to the log file for troubleshooting purposes.

    Transfer Protocol

    From the dropdown, select the applicable transfer protocol: HTTP or HTTPS.

    Ignore Line Feed

    Toggle On to ignore the line feed characters. These characters are not required for all devices. The default is Off.

    Refuse Invalid Line Number

    Toggle On to return an error when an attempt is made to set a row number that does not exist. The default is Off.

    Startup Delay

    Type the number of seconds to delay during system startup. The startup delay provides drivers and other dependencies sufficient time to load.
