Bump Bars

Use the Bump Bars editor to create bump bar templates and map commands to specific bump bar buttons. To assign bump bars to specific kitchen screens, see General Settings.

To create a bump bar template:

  1. From the Kitchen Settings menu, select Bump Bars.

  2. From the Bump Bars screen, select New Bump Bar.

General Information

From the General Information page of the Bump Bars editor:

  1. In the Bump Bar Name field, type a name for the bump bar.

  2. In the Description field, type a description of the bump bar.

  3. From the Connection Type dropdown, select the bump bar connection type.

  4. Toggle Active to Active if the bump bar is available for use at the site.

Peripheral Configuration

From the Peripheral Configuration section, select the applicable vendor and model.

This section is only available for bump bars that use a Serial connection type.

Connection Configuration

This section is only available for bump bars that use a Serial connection type.

From the Connection Configuration section, define a set of network connection settings, including the serial port and baud rate.

To add and define a set of network configuration options:

  1. From the upper-right of the Configuration Set section, select Add Set.

  2. From the Network Configuration Set Options window, define a set of network configuration options.

To assign a configuration set to sites:

  1. From the Configuration Set section, locate the configuration set.

  2. From the 3-dot menu to the right of the configuration set, select Edit Site Assignment.

  3. From the Assign Sites for Serial Configuration Set window, select the sites.

Mappings

To map commands to bump bar keycodes:

  1. From the menu pane on the left, select Mappings.

  2. From the command list, select the command.

  3. From the Actions menu, select Edit.

  4. In the Keycode field on the popup window, type the keycode to map to the selected command.

  5. Select Assign.

  6. From the upper-right of the screen, select Save.

Bump Bar Commands

Command

Description

ALERTS

Opens/closes the Alert/Notification screen.

BUMP

Bumps the selected order from the screen.

BUMP RECALLED ORDERS

Bumps all orders that have been recalled to the screen.

DOWN

Moves to the next order.

ENTER

Selects an item.

FORECASTER

Opens/closes the Forecaster Pane.

GO TO THE FIRST PAGE

Opens the first page of orders.

INGREDIENTS

Opens/closes the Ingredient Summary Pane.

LANG

Opens the Language menu.

LEFT

Moves the order selector on the screen to the left.

PAGE UP

Moves to the next page.

PAGE DOWN

Moves to the previous page.

PARK ORDER

Opens the Park Orders Screen.

POPUP

Opens/closes the Popup Menu.

RECALL

Returns the last bumped order to the screen.

RECALL SCREEN

Displays a list of orders bumped from the screen.

RESET

Refreshes the screen.

RIGHT

Move the order selector on the screen to the right.

SUM

Opens/closes the Order Item Summary Pane.

UP

Moves to previous order.

VIEW

Selects an item/order.

ZOOM

Zooms on order.

ONE

Bumps the order in a particular cell.

TWO

Bumps the order in a particular cell.

THREE

Bumps the order in a particular cell.

FOUR

Bumps the order in a particular cell.

FIVE

Bumps the order in a particular cell.

SIX

Bumps the order in a particular cell.

SEVEN

Bumps the order in a particular cell.

EIGHT

Bumps the order in a particular cell.

NINE

Bumps the order in a particular cell.

TEN

Bumps the order in a particular cell.

TEN+

Enable the kitchen staff to use the bump bar to select and bump / recall / park / unpark orders that have double-digit cell numbers.

The following setting is located on the Popup Menu section of the General page of the Kitchen Screen Settings editor:

  • 10+ - Toggle Yes to enable the 10+ command to allow the kitchen staff to select orders that have double-digit cell numbers using the bump bar.
