The Order Entry Overview

The Order Entry menu contains several sections:

  • Listed down the right of the Order Entry menu are available Menu Items.

    • Each Menu Item tab opens a specific item menu.

  • When a menu item or combo number is selected, the Modification Menu opens.

  • Listed across the top of the Order Entry menu are the Order Entry Functions.

  • To the left of the Order Entry Item Menu is the Quantity Column.

  • On the left of the Order Entry menu is the Virtual Receipt.

Order Entry Tasks

The Order Entry menu handles numerous tasks including:

Take an Order
  1. From the list of items down the right of the Order Entry menu, select an item.

    • The time of day determines the default item tab.

  2. From the top of the Item Menu page, select the combo size.

  3. Under the combo size options, select a combo number.

  4. From the Modification Menu, modify the order as needed.

  5. From the lower-right of the Modification Menu menu, select Done.

  6. Repeat Step 1 thru Step 5 until all items for the order are entered.

  7. On the left of the Order Entry menu, review the Virtual Receipt.

  8. From the top of the Virtual Receipt, confirm the Order Destination.

  9. From the Functions listed across the top of the Order Entry menu, select Total.

  10. From the on-screen keyboard, type the Tent Table Number.

  11. From the Payment menu, select the payment type and process the payment.

Order Multiple Items at Once

To order multiple items at the same time:

  1. To the left of the Order Entry menu, is a column of numbers. Select the Quantity of the item to order.

  2. From the Order Entry menu, select the item.

  3. (Optional) Add requested modifications.

  4. Continue with the order as usual.

Order Entry Modification Menus

There are several modification menus including:

Modify an Item

To modify an item:

  1. From the Order Entry menu, select the item to modify.

  2. From the first row of options on the Item Modification menu, select the modification amount.

    • Standard returns the item to the default ingredients.

    • Plain removes all toppings aside from cheese.

  3. From the toppings/ingredients list, select the toppings/ingredients to modify.

    • Toppings/Ingredients displayed with a checkmark are included for the item.

    • Select a topping/ingredient to toggle the selection on and off.

    • The bottom row of toppings/ingredients provide additional options when selected.

  4. From the lower-right of the Modification Menu menu, select Done.

Modify a Side

To modify a side:

  1. From the Order Entry menu, select the item to modify.

  2. From the top of the Modification Menu, select Side.

  3. From the first row of options on the Side Modification menu, select the modification size.

    • The size may differ from the selected combo.

  4. Select the requested side item.

    • The selected item appears in gray.

    • The selected item, along with the additional cost (upcharge), also appears on the Virtual Receipt.

  5. At the bottom of the Side Modification menu, is the toppings list.

    • These modifications behave the same as item modifications.

  6. From the lower-right of the Modification Menu menu, select Done.

Modify a Drink

To modify a drink:

  1. From the Order Entry menu, select the item to modify.

  2. From the top of the Modification Menu, select Drinks.

  3. From the first row of options on the Drinks Modification menu, select the modification size.

    • The size may differ from the selected combo.

  4. From the lower-right of the Modification Menu menu, select Done.

Modify a Combo

Modify a combo from any modification menu.

To modify a combo:

  1. From the Order Entry menu, select the item to modify.

  2. From the bottom of the Modification Menu, select the combo size.

    • The selected combo size appears in gray.

  3. From the lower-right of the Modification Menu menu, select Done.

Modify a Sandwich

Modify a sandwich from any modification menu. Modifying a sandwich places an order for the sandwich without the side or the drink.

To modify a sandwich:

  1. From the Order Entry menu, select the item to modify.

  2. At the bottom of the Modification Menu, select Sandwich.

  3. Modify the toppings/ingredients as you would for a menu item.

  4. From the lower-right of the Modification Menu menu, select Done.

Modify Multiple Items at Once

To modify multiple items at the same time:

  1. From the Virtual Receipt, select the group of items.

  2. From the bottom of the Modification Menu, select Split Modify.

  3. From the on-screen keypad, type the quantity of items to modify.

    • The entered quantity is separated from the group and modified.

    • Separated items that are not modified will regroup automatically.

  4. From the lower-right of the Modification Menu menu, select Done.

Remove an Item from an Order

To remove an item from an order:

  1. From the Virtual Receipt, select the item to remove.

  2. From the bottom of the Modification Menu, select Void.

Order Destination

The order destination classifies an order for Eat In or Carry Out.

To view and/or change the order destination:

  1. On the left of the Order Entry menu, locate the Virtual Receipt.

  2. At the top of the Virtual Receipt, locate the order destination.

    • The default order destination for front counter registers is Eat In.

  3. From the Order Entry Functions listed across the top of the Order Entry menu, select Carry Out.

    • This Order Entry Function toggles between Carry Out and Eat In.

Order Entry Functions

The available Order Entry Functions are listed across the top of the Order Entry menu. The action of each function is listed below:

Return to the Startup Menu.

Void

Remove an item from the order.

Coupon #

Enter number from a coupon.

POS Functions

Open a Manager Options menu that includes:

  • Reprint Receipt Options

  • Kitchen Messages

  • Close Drawer (Finalize)

  • Clear/Refund Order

Carry Out/Eat In

Toggle the order destination between Cary Out or Eat In.

The default order destination for front counter registers is Eat In.

Total $$$

Total order for payment.

Kitchen Message

Send a message to the Kitchen Team about a special request.

To add a kitchen message to an item:

  1. From the Order Entry menu, select the item.

  2. From the Order Entry Functions listed across the top of the Order Entry menu, select POS Functions.

  3. From the POS Functions menu, select Kitchen Message.

  4. From the Kitchen Message menu, select a message option.

Note

To remove a kitchen message from an item, remove the item from the order and re-enter the item. For more information, see Remove an Item from an Order.

Remove an Item from an Order

To remove an item from an order:

  1. From the Virtual Receipt, select the item to remove.

  2. From the bottom of the Modification Menu, select Void.

Payment Options

There are several payment options including:

Cash Payment

To process a cash payment:

  1. From the right of the Payment menu, select the payment type of Cash.

  2. From the Virtual Receipt on the left of the Payment menu, confirm the order balance.

  3. Use the on-screen keypad to type the cash amount received in dollars and cents format (1000 for $10.00).

    • Alternatively, use the Quick Tender options listed to the left of the keypad.

  4. Select Enter.

  5. The change amount is displayed on the screen and the cash drawer opens.

  6. Place the cash received and remove the change amount.

  7. Close the cash drawer.

Credit/Gift Card Payment

To process a credit card or gift card payment:

  1. From the right of the Payment menu, select the payment type of Credit Card or Gift Card.

  2. Swipe the card through the card reader.

  3. Follow the instructions on the card reader.
