Terminal Functions

This section describes the POS terminal functions performed by a manager.

View Terminal Status

Use the Terminal Status feature to view various details and status information about the current terminal.

To view the terminal status:

  1. From the upper-left, select the hamburger icon hamburger_menu_icon.

  2. From the System Navigation menu, select Functions.

  3. From the Functions column, select Terminal Status.

The Terminal Status screen includes:

Terminal Information

General information including site/company, version details, and network status.

Peripherals

Details about connected peripherals and their status.

Online Terminals

Information about active / online terminals at the site.

WEB-SRM

WEB-SRM certificates and identifiers. This tab is only available when the WEB-SRM service is enabled for the site.

Connect PayPal Reader

Note

The following function is only available on a system setup with PayPal.

To connect and pair a PayPal device with a terminal:

  1. From the upper-left, select the hamburger icon hamburger_menu_icon.

  2. From the System Navigation menu, select Functions.

  3. From the Functions column, select Connect PayPal Reader.

  4. When prompted, select Proceed.

  5. From the Available Card Readers popup, select the device.

Refresh Terminal Data (Local)

Warning

Terminals are not operable during the refresh process.

The Refresh Data function refreshes POS terminals at the local site with the latest configuration updates.

To refresh a terminal:

  1. From the upper-left, select the hamburger icon hamburger_menu_icon.

  2. From the System Navigation menu, select Functions.

  3. From the Functions column of the Functions screen, select Refresh Data.

  4. From the Refresh Data popup, select the applicable option:

    • Current Terminal - Refresh the current terminal.

    • All Terminals - Refresh all terminals.

  5. Select Refresh.

Change Terminal

Note

Settle any offline transactions prior to a terminal scheme change.

The Change Terminal function changes the scheme of a POS terminal. For example, change a Front Counter terminal to Drive Thru.

To change a terminal:

  1. From the upper-left, select the hamburger icon hamburger_menu_icon.

  2. From the System Navigation menu, select Functions.

  3. From the Functions column, select Change Terminal.

  4. From Change Terminal, locate the terminal.

  5. From the Action column, select Select.

  6. When prompted, select Continue.

    • The current user is logged out and POS is restarted.

    • Open drawer sessions remain Open.

Reset Terminal

Warning

The Reset Terminal operation cannot be undone.

Reset a terminal and delete all data, including transaction data not synchronized with other devices.

A warning message appears if any records are not uploaded to the cloud. You can optionally force the terminal reset before the upload process is complete.

To reset a terminal:

  1. From the upper-left, select the hamburger icon hamburger_menu_icon.

  2. From the System Navigation menu, select Functions.

  3. From the Functions column, select Reset Terminal.

View Logs

Generate Event logs for technical support to resolve issues with the POS and its interaction with external software and/or connected devices.

Event log entires include:

  • Local Time - Data and time of event

  • Type - Entry type: INFO or ERROR

  • Message - Description of event

  • Source - Where event occurred

To view application event logs:

  1. From the upper-left, select the hamburger icon hamburger_menu_icon.

  2. From the System Navigation menu, select Functions.

  3. From the Functions column, select View Logs.

  4. Select a log entry to view additional details.

Search Log List

In the Search field in the upper-right, type search criteria to locate a specific log entry.

Filter Log List

To filter the log list:

  1. From the upper-right, select Filters.

  2. From the Filters panel, select a filter.

  3. Select the filter criteria.

    For example, select ERROR from the Type filter to only view error entries.

  4. Select Apply.
