Price Integration Feature

The Price Integration feature allows the Point of Sale System to communicate with Xenial Digital Menu Boards. When the POS updates prices, the Digital Menu Board also updates prices.

Prices are updated on the quarter hour, for example: 12:00, 12:15, 12:30, 12:45.

DMB Price Integration Requirements

The following DMB requirements are necessary to use the Price Integration Feature:

  • DMB Media Player (controller) v 4.0.6 or Higher

  • Access to MB01 Media Player (controller)

  • USB-attached Keyboard

The Portal Configuration

It is necessary to set the proper POS configuration to use Xenial Digital Menu Board (DMB) Price Integration.

To set the proper POS Price Configuration:

  1. On the My Restaurants panel, select the checkbox for the site.

  2. At the bottom of the My Restaurants panel, select Edit.

  3. On the General tab of the Edit My Restaurants panel, locate the POS System Type dropdown; select Other (Integrated Pricing).

  4. At the bottom of the Restaurant Edit Window, select Submit.

  5. From the menu list on the left of The Portal, select Sync Changes to Restaurants.

Price Integration POS Systems

For detailed instructions, select the POS System:

DMB Price Integration: PAR POS

It is necessary to update the DMB Media Player configuration to use the DMB Price Integration feature.

To integrate PAR POS prices:

  1. Plug a USB keyboard into an open port on the MB01 Media Player.

  2. On the keyboard, press Ctrl+C to access the Controller Configuration menu.

    • Use Tab to navigate between fields.

    • Use the Up/Down Arrows to view available selections within a dropbox.

    • Press Enter to make a selection.

  3. From the POS System Type field, select the POS System Type.

    • In this instance, select PAR.

  4. In the Database Username field, type the username.

    • In this instance, the username is the PAR Access Token.

    • The PAR Access Token is the same for all PAR POS/Xenial DMB integrations.

  5. In the Database Password field, type the password.

    • In this instance, the password is the PAR Location Token.

    • The PAR Location Token changes depending on the site.

  6. In the Database Hostname field, type the request URL from PAR.

  7. At the bottom of the Controller Configuration menu, select Save.

    • After the Changes Saved message appears, continue to Step 8.

  8. At the bottom of the Controller Configuration menu, select Reload.

    • This action causes the Digital Menu Boards to restart.

    • Prices are updated on the quarter hour, for example: 12:00, 12:15, 12:30, 12:45.
