Preparation Steps
Use Preparation Steps to create the preparation steps to assign to one or more ingredients. Define how to label actions within each step.
Create Preparation Step

To create a new Preparation Step:
From the Preparation Step List homepage, select New Preparation Step.
From the General section, define how the preparation step is identified.
From the Labeling section, define how the preparation step is labeled.
From the upper-right, select Save.
General
From the General section, define the following:
Setting | Description |

Name | Name of the Preparation Step |
Preparation Step ID | Unique ID for Preparation Step |
External ID | External identifier to assign to the record. External identifiers are references used by external third-party services. |
Description | Description of Preparation Step |
Active | Toggle Active if the Preparation Step is available for use at company sites. Multi-site users: To the right of the field, select the globe icon to define values for each site. |
Labeling
From the Labeling section, define how the preparation step will be labeled:
Setting | Description |

Start Preparation Action | Identify the first action to perform for this step. |
End Preparation Action | Identify the last action to perform for this step. |
Discard Action | Identify the action that results in discarding the associated ingredients. |
