Product Variants

Define variations for a product to allow each of its sizes, associated meals and other variant types to be sold and tracked.

Products added to an order can be converted at the POS to different variations of that product, such as meal or size variations.

Product Variation Examples

  • The Cheeseburger product can be converted to its meal variation Cheeseburger Combo.

  • The Strawberry Shake product can be converted to its size variations Medium Strawberry Shake or Large Strawberry Shake.

Product variants and variant types are configurable. The most common product variant types are: Meal and Size.

The order taker at the POS selects the applicable button to convert a product to one of its variations. If more than one variation is available for a product and there is not enough space on the screen to display all of them, the order taker selects the requested variation from a dropdown.

Before product variations can be created, the product variants that are paired with products must first be created.
