Reporting Categories

To group associated products together on reports, assign product and modifiers to major and minor reporting categories.

Before you can assign products to reporting categories, you need to first create the categories.

Create Reporting Category

To create a major category with related minor categories:

  1. From the Reporting Category List homepage, select New Reporting Category.

  2. From the General section, define the following:

    Setting

    Description

    Name

    Major reporting category name.

    External ID

    Alphanumeric value to identify the category when preparing data for export to third-party accounting and data warehouse solutions.

Minor Reporting Categories

From the Minor Reporting Categories section, add the related minor categories and child categories (if applicable):

  1. From the upper-right of the Minor Reporting Categories section, select Create Minor Category.

  2. In the Minor Category field, type a name for the minor reporting category.

  3. In the External ID field, type an alphanumeric value to identify the reporting category record when preparing data for export to third-party accounting and data warehouse solutions.

  4. From the Child Categories section, add child categories (if applicable).

  5. From the lower-right of the Create Minor Category window, select Done.
