Site Manager

Genius Portal 4-Dot Menu Digital Menu Board Site Manager

Use the Site Manager utility to:

  • View the DMB status at each site

  • Synchronize Daypart Schedules for displaying Content Layouts

  • Generate the Share Code that is used to link content to the devices at a site

  • View and manage the "Sleep" settings for the Content Designs in a Display Schema

The Site Manager utility includes the following tabs:

Tab

Description

Sites

  • View network/hardware information and telemetry details, including the current health of connected devices at company sites (e.g. Online, Offline).

  • View the Content Layouts that are currently deployed to a site.

  • View the Content Layouts that are scheduled for deployment to a site.

  • Generate the Share Code that is used to link DMB content to devices.

Daypart Schedule

View and synchronize Daypart Schedules for company sites.

Daypart Schedules determine when deployed Content Layout is displayed on the DMB devices.

The number of Daypart Schedules that are awaiting synchronization is specified in parentheses next to the Daypart Schedule tab name.

Display Sleep

View and manage Sleep time settings for Display Schema Content Designs.

Answer Business Attributes

Capture information about business processes, preferences, and operational metrics to improve site management and performance.

Sites

From the Sites tab of Site Manager:

  • View the status of displays at sites

  • View Content Layouts already deployed or scheduled for deployment

  • Generate a Share Code to link content to devices

  • Configure Menu Engine for sites

Sites

Open the Sites tab of Site Manager

Select the Content Layouts value to view the list of mapped layouts.

Configure and view the status of Menu Engine at the site

Status

Select the status for a specific site to view the current health of its connected device(s).

Select the link below the Status column header to filter the site list by status indicator.

3-Dot Menu

From the dropdown, select an action to perform on the site:

  • Share Code - Generate a Share Code for the site. Link hardware to the site using the generated code.

  • View Content Layouts - View the list of Content Layouts mapped to the site.

Select Sites

Open the Site Selector to select the sites to view.

View Display Status

To view status details about connected devices and display assignments at a site:

  1. From the Site Manager, select the Sites tab.

  2. From the site list, locate the site.

  3. From the Status column, select the status indicator. A sidebar opens that lists the layouts at the site.

  4. To the right of a layout name, select the right arrow to view details about connected devices, including:

    • Virtual representation of content displayed on device

    • Device name

    • Serial number

    • Deployment date/time

    • Status of device

  5. From the details window, open the 3-dot menu to the right of a device to access the following functions:

    View the telemetry and device health details. From the menu pane on the left, select General to view the following:

    • Display information, including device status, display assignment, and current screen.

    • Network information, including the connection type and IP address.

    • Hardware information, including brand and model name, and available disk space.

    Note

    The default frequency at which telemetry data is sent can be configured via the Distributor's API.

    From the menu pane on the left, select Device Screenshots to access screenshots from the last seven (7) days.

    Select the 3-dot menu on specific screenshot to view and/or download screenshot.

    From the upper-right, access the following functions:

    • Virtual Preview - View virtual representation of display content from the portal. This content preview is not real-time.

    • Take Device Screenshot - Take screenshot of real-time display content and view content from the portal. This function is only available when the device is online.

    Reboot Device

    Remotely reboot the device at the site

    Remove This Device

    Remotely remove the device from the layout

    Take Screenshot

    Take a screenshot of real-time display content and view the content from the portal.

    This function is only available when the device is online.

    Virtual Preview

    View virtual representation of the display content from the portal. This content preview is not real-time.

    This function is available regardless of the online status of the device.

Generate Share Code

A share code is a unique 5-digit code that is generated for a specific site and its device. A share code cannot be used to link devices at more than one site.

To generate a share code for a site:

  1. From the site list on the Site Manager, locate the site.

  2. From the row of the site, select the 3-dot menu.

  3. From the popup menu, select Share Code. The share code is displayed.

    • Once generated, a share code is valid for 24 hours.

    • If the code is expired, select Refresh Code.

    • The Share Code function is disabled if a display layout is not assigned to the site.

  4. From the Share Code window, select Close.

Configure Menu Engine

To view Menu Engine configuration status:

  1. From the Site Manager, select the Sites tab.

  2. From the site list, locate the site.

  3. From the Menu Engine column, view the site status.

  4. Select the All dropdown and select Configured or Not Configured sites.\

    For the Not Configured sites, hover over the Menu Engine column field to view specific configuration issues for the site.

To reconfigure Menu Engine for the site(s):

  1. From the site list, locate the site.

  2. From the site row, select the 3-dot menu and select Reconfigure Menu Engine.

    A message appears in the upper-right when configuration is complete.

Note

Alternatively, from the site list, select multiple sites, select the Actions dropdown, and select Reconfigure Menu Engine.

Daypart Schedule

From the Daypart Schedule tab of the Site Manager, manage DMB content schedules and synchronize updates at the sites where the schedules are in use.

Daypart Schedule

Open the Daypart Schedule tab of the Site Manager.

The number in the column header indicates the number of schedule changes that require syncing.

To edit the active status for sites, select the link in this column.

3-Dot Menu

From the dropdown, select an action to perform on the schedule:

  • View - View the content schedule for Dayparts on the schedule. Edit the status for sites, as needed.

  • Sync Schedule - Send schedule updates to sites.

Select Sites

Open the Site Selector to select the sites to view.

Display Sleep Times

Sleep Times determine when a display is inactive. Define sleep times to prolong device life and eliminate the need to manually turn displays on/off.

From the Display Sleep tab of the Site Manager, view and manage the sleep schedule for displays.
