SEMS End-of-Life (EOL) Notice

In partnership with RBI, we’re reaching out to inform you about an important change that impacts your restaurants’ back office technology. Xenial is retiring our legacy “SEMS Classic” and “SEMS4” platforms. These will be replaced by Xenial RTI Back Office (XBO), our cloud based, full featured Back Office solution which includes Food Cost, Labor Management, Custom Reports, and more!

1. SEMS End-Of-Life: November 28, 2025. After this date:
   • SEMS will no longer be supported or maintained
   • Historical SEMS data (including ti me punches) will no longer be accessible
   • SEMS integrations with other systems (Payroll, Dashboard, etc.) will stop working

   Your net sales, customer counts, basic employee information and historical time punches will be transitioned to XBO/RTIconnect during your upgrade. See SEMS End-Of-Life FAQs below for more information.

2. Schedule Your Xenial RTI Back Office (XBO) Upgrade Now
   We strongly recommend scheduling your XBO upgrade now. The process takes 45-60 days to complete (longer for large operators), requires your input, and must allow time for staff training. Early scheduling offers signifi ant benefits and more personalized assistance which we won’t be able to offer on later dates due to upgrade volume. 3. Upgrade Before Your Move to PAR POS
   Xenial RTI Back Office (XBO) integrates seamlessly with the PAR POS. However, SEMS does not integrate with PAR, so when you replace your first POS, you’ll need to use XBO for reporting, payroll and all other back office tasks. (Xenial and RBI will provide further details in a separate communication about POS conversions.)

Xenial RTI Back Office (XBO) Upgrade Details

Upgrades are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. These upgrade slots fill up quickly, and our team is often scheduled for 2-3 months in advance, so please call Xenial and schedule your upgrade today.

SCHEDULING NOTE: If you do not schedule your upgrade in advance, Xenial will assign you an upgrade slot between January and September 2025. All SEMS platforms will be disconnected by November 2025.

SEMS End-of-Life FAQs

When is the End-Of-Life date for SEMS Classic and SEMS4?
The final support date for SEMS US markets is November 28, 2025. We recommend scheduling your upgrade to Xenial RTI Back Office (XBO) as soon as possible. The upgrade process takes 45-60 days (longer for large operators) and available slots fill up quickly.

Why are SEMS products being replaced?
Xenial is streamlining its back office solutions to focus development and support on a single platform. This will allow us to better serve clients with more advanced and cohesive solutions.

What is the replacement product?
Xenial RTI Back Office (XBO) is the platform replacing SEMS. This is a proven, feature-rich back office system with a total of over 9,000 successful restaurant installations.

How will I access historical SEMS data?
During your XBO upgrade, key data (net sales, customer counts, and basic employee info) will be migrated to XBO. Up to seven (7) years of employee punches will either be migrated to XBO or made available in a separate file for $150/restaurant. After the upgrade, SEMS will no longer receive POS data.

IMPORTANT: All SEMS access for US markets will be discontinued by November 28th, 2025. There will be no ability to access SEMS after this date.

What happens to my SEMS customizations?
Custom SEMS features may not automatically be available in XBO. Please confer with your Xenial upgrade consultant to determine how your specific needs will be handled before proceeding with your upgrade.
