Clock Procedures

This section describes the Xenial Ordering application clock procedures, and the steps to sign on/out of a terminal.

Sign On to a Terminal

To sign on to a terminal:

  1. In the User ID field, use the numeric keypad to type the user ID.

    • If a mistake is made, select X to delete the last number entered.

  2. Select the PIN field.

  3. In the PIN field, type the personal identification number (PIN).

    • The PIN is masked for security purposes.

  4. Select Enter.

Nota

  • To clear the User ID and PIN fields, select Clear.

  • The system configuration determines if employees are required to enter their user ID and PIN on separate screens.

Change PIN

Nota

Depending on system configuration, change PIN functionality may not be available.

To change the employee PIN used to Sign On to the Ordering application:

  1. To the right of the employee name in the screen header, select the down arrow.

  2. From the dropdown, select Change PIN.

  3. In the PIN field, type the current PIN.

  4. In the New PIN field, type the new PIN.

  5. In the Confirm New PIN field, type the new PIN a second time.

  6. Select Save.

Confirm the Drawer Assignment

After signing on to the terminal, confirm the cash drawer assignment:

  1. From the Assign Drawer prompt, select Continue to accept the displayed drawer assignment.

  2. On the Open Drawer prompt, use the numeric keypad to enter the starting drawer amount. The starting drawer amount is the amount of physical currency contained in the drawer. This currency amount is used to begin a new drawer session.

  3. Select Finish.

Nota

System configurations determine if the manager is required to approve the starting drawer amount.

Clock In

To clock in to start a shift:

  1. To the right of the employee name in the screen header, select the down arrow.

  2. From the dropdown, select Clock In.

  3. From the Select Your Job popup, select the job to perform (if applicable).

Alternatively, clock in from the System Navigation menu:

  1. From the upper-left of the screen, select the hamburger icon hamburger_menu_icon.

  2. From the System Navigation menu, select Clock In.

Nota

Employees can clock in/out from a terminal without requiring the user currently signed on to the terminal to sign out.

Start/End a Break

To start a break:

  1. To the right of the employee name in the screen header, select the down arrow.

  2. From the dropdown, select Start Break.

    If multiple break types are available:

    From the Start Beak dropdown, select the break type.

To end a break:

  1. To the right of the employee name in the screen header, select the down arrow.

  2. From the dropdown, select End Break.

Clock Out

Nota

Employees cannot clock out when the status of their drawer session is Open.

To clock out to end a shift:

  1. To the right of the employee name in the screen header, select the down arrow.

  2. From the dropdown, select Clock Out.

The Indirect Tips total is printed on the clock out chit (if applicable). Indirect Tips are tips distributed in a tip-sharing environment to employees who do not receive tips directly from customers.

Sign Out of a Terminal

To sign out of a terminal:

  1. To the right of the employee name in the screen header, select the down arrow.

  2. From the dropdown, select Sign Out.
