Currency Scheme

Xenial Cloud Portal Data Management Ordering Settings Settings Currency Scheme

To create a currency scheme:

  1. From the Currency Scheme List homepage, select New Currency Scheme.

  2. From the menu pane on the left, select a page and define the respective settings.

    The following introduces the pages of the Currency Scheme editor.

    Page

    Description

    General

    General settings about a currency scheme including its name, description, and identifying symbol.

    Availability

    Availability settings for the currency scheme at sites.

    Denomination

    Denomination settings including bank notes, coins and currency rounding.

    Exchange Rates

    Exchange rates for alternative currencies.

  3. From the upper-right of the screen, select Save.

General

From the General page of the Currency Scheme editor, define the following settings:

Setting

Description

Name

Type a name for the currency scheme.

Currency Code

Type a code to identify the currency scheme (e.g. USD for U.S. dollars).

Description

Type a brief description of the currency scheme.

Symbol

Type the symbol that identifies the currency scheme (e.g. $ for U.S. dollars).

Symbol Positioning

From the dropdown, select the option that indicates where the currency symbol is positioned in relation to the digits (e.g. Left for U.S. dollars).

Multi-site users: To the right of the field, select the globe icon to define values for each site.

Precision

From the dropdown, select the smallest measuring unit for the currency scheme (e.g. 0.00 for U.S. dollars).

Include In Drawer Counts

Toggle to Yes to include the currency scheme on the Count Drawer screen of the Ordering application.

Availability

From the Availability page of the Currency Scheme editor, toggle Active to Active if the currency scheme is available for use at company sites.

Multi-site users: To the right of the field, select the globe icon to define values for each site.

Denomination

From the Denominations page of the Currency Scheme editor, define denomination settings including bank notes, coins and currency rounding.

Bank Notes

Add a record for each type of bank note that is used in the currency scheme:

  1. From the Bank Notes section, select Add Note.

  2. From the Create Note window, define the following settings:

    Setting

    Description

    Name

    Type the name of the bank note.

    Value

    Type the bank note value (e.g. 1 for the U.S. one dollar bill).

    Show As Quick Payment Button

    Toggle Show As Quick Payment Button to Yes to include a Quick Payment button for the currency on the Tender screen of the Ordering application.

  3. From the lower-right of the Create Note window, select Done.

Coins

Add a record for each type of coin that is used in the currency scheme:

  1. From the Coins section, select Add Coin.

  2. From the Create Coin window, define the following settings:

    Setting

    Description

    Name

    Type the name of the coin.

    Value

    Type the bank note value of the coin (e.g. 0.25 for U.S. Quarters).

    Show As Quick Payment Button

    Toggle Show As Quick Payment Button to Yes to include a Quick Payment button for the currency on the Tender screen of the Ordering application.

  3. From the lower-right of the Create Coin window, select Done.

Cash Rounding

From the Cash Rounding section, define the following settings:

Enable Cash Rounding

Toggle to Yes to allow the cashier to round the currency up/down to predefined amounts.

The rounding adjustment is displayed on the following:

  • Order Summary section of Order History.

  • Change Due screen.

  • Guest Check and receipt.

  • Drawer Audit, Employee Audit and Sales Detail Reports.

Rounding Method

From the dropdown, select the method to use to round currency values:

  • Round Up - Round currency values up to the target value.

  • Round Down - Round currency values down to the target value.

  • Nearest - Round currency values to the nearest target value.

Rounding Target Value

Type the target decimal value (e.g. to round currency values to the nearest quarter value, type 0.25).

Exchange Rates

From the Exchange Rates page of the Currency Scheme editor, define exchange rates for alternative currencies.

In the Exchange Rate field for each listed currency, type the respective exchange rate against the default currency.

Multi-site users: To the right of the field, select the globe icon to define values for each site.
