Create a Print Template
Create and configure templates for the items employees print at the site. The available print template types include:

To create a receipt template:
From the Xenial Portal, select Data Management.
From the Ordering Settings menu, select Settings.
Select Receipt > Receipt Templates.
Select New Receipt Template.
From the upper-right of the screen, select Save.
Define General Settings for a Print Template
To define general settings about a print template:

Open the General section of the template record.
In the Name field, type a name for the template.
Set the Active toggle to Active if the template is available for use at the site.
Multi-site users: From the right of the field, select the globe icon to define values for each site.
From the Template Type dropdown, select the applicable print template type.
In the Description field, type a description of the template.

Guest Check

Kitchen Ticket
Merchant Card Payment

To define optional elements for a print template:
Open the Options and Sorts section of the template record.
From the Grouping Preference dropdown, select the desired method for grouping information on the printout: Person, Item Group, or None.
From the Extra Print Elements field, select the elements to include on the printout.
(If applicable) From the Sorting section, select the desired sorting method for each provided order item type.
Display Priority - Priority items are displayed above non-priority items.
As Added - Items are displayed in the order in which they are added.
Nota
The grouping preference and print elements that are available for selection vary by template type.
Assign Receipt Messages to a Print Template

Print unique messages for guests in the header or footer of receipts. Use the Receipt Messages editor to create the messages, and then assign the messages to a print template.

Print Header Message
To print a message in the header of the print template:
Open the Receipt Messages section of the template record.
Toggle Print Header Message to Yes.
Select Add Header Message.
From the Add Header Message window, select the message.
Select Add Header Message.
Select and drag the control to the left of the listed messages to sort them in the desired sequence.
Print Footer Message
To print a message in the footer of the print template:
Open the Receipt Messages section of the template record.
Toggle Print Footer Message to Yes.
Select Add Footer Message.
From the Add Footer Message window, select the message.
Select Add Footer Message.
Select and drag the control to the left of the listed messages to sort them in the desired sequence.
Select an Image for a Print Template

To select an image file to include with a print template:

Open the Image section of the template record.
Select Choose File.
From the Open window, locate and select the file to upload.
Select Open to upload the file to the template. A preview of the image is displayed.
In the Image Size % field, type the desired size as a percentage.
From the Image Align field, select the desired alignment for the image: Left, Center, or Right
Edit the Print Template Content
To edit what the template prints when a print job is generated:

Open the Content section of the template record.
In the Template Editor field, edit the markup language as desired.
Select Template Help to view the template variables and layout functions that are available for use.
Select Update Preview to see a preview of the printed template.
Select Reset to Default to reset the template markup to its default configuration.
Nota
If a template is not defined for a particular receipt/report, the default template is used when a print job is generated.
