Nota

This topic describes how to create a new modifier variant that can be added to modifier items to create child variations.

For instructions on how to add existing modifier variants to a modifier, see Define Conversion Settings for a Modifier.

To create a modifier variant:

  1. From the Xenial Portal, select Data Management.

  2. From the Ordering Settings menu, select Modifiers.

  3. Select Modifier Variants.

  4. Select New Variant.

  5. In the Name field, type a name for the variant.

  6. From the Price Adjustment Type dropdown, select the desired method to adjust the modifier price to determine the price of this variation:

    • None - Do not adjust the modifier price.

    • Fixed Amount - Add or subtract a specific dollar amount from the modifier price.

    • Percent - Adjust the modifier price by a specific percentage.

  7. In the Price Adjustment Value field, type the specific dollar amount (e.g. 1.50) or percentage (e.g. 0.50 for 50%) by which to adjust the modifier price to determine the price of the variation.

    • This value corresponds to the Price Adjustment Type method selected in step 6. If Fixed Amount is selected, this value is recognized as a dollar amount. If Percent is selected, this value is recognized as a percentage.

    • If the selected Price Adjustment Type method is None, this field is NOT displayed.

    • Use the -/+ controls to adjust the value as needed.

  8. From the Quantity Multiplier dropdown, select the desired method to adjust the modifier quantity to determine the quantity of this variation.

    • None - Do not adjust the modifier quantity.

    • This value corresponds to the Quantity Multiplier method selected in step 8. If Fixed Amount is selected, this value is recognized as a numeric quantity. If Percent is selected, this value is recognized as a percentage.

    • If the selected Quantity Multiplier method is None, this field is not displayed.

    • For the No modifier variation, type 0 in this field.

    • Use the -/+ controls to adjust the value as needed.

  10. In the Sort Order field, type the desired sequential position for the modifier variant on the Ordering application menu in relation to other modifier variant records.

    • For example, assign 1 to Small, 2 to Medium, and 3 to Large.

  11. Set the Active toggle to Active if the variant is available for use at the site.
