Manage Users

Xenial Cloud Portal User Management Users

Use the Users editor to manage Xenial Cloud Portal user accounts including their assigned roles and sites. The following information is provided for each user listed on the Users homepage:

Column

Description

Name

The name of the user.

Select a user name to open and edit their account.

Email

The email address of the user.

Roles

The Xenial Roles assigned to the user.

Sites

The number of company sites assigned to the user.

  • Hover the cursor over the number to view the site list names in a popup.

  • Select the number to open the Sites page of the user account and add/edit the site assignments.

To manage existing users:

  1. From the Users homepage, select the users.

  2. From the Actions dropdown, select the User Actions.

The following table describes the actions available from the Actions menu of the Users editor.

Edit User

Nota

The Edit User action is only available when a single user is selected.

Edit Assigned Roles

Manage Role assignments.

Edit Assigned Sites

Manage company site assignments.

Delete Users

Delete the selected users.

Assign a Role to Multiple Users

To assign a role to multiple Xenial Cloud Portal users:

  1. From the Users homepage, select the users.

  2. From the Actions dropdown, select Edit Assigned Roles.

  3. From the Edit Assigned Roles window, select Add Role.

  4. From the Add Roles window, select the roles to assign.

  5. Select Add [#] Role(s).

  6. Select Save.

Edit Assigned Roles for Multiple Users

To edit the Role assignments for multiple Xenial Cloud Portal users:

  1. From the Users homepage, select the users.

  2. From the Actions dropdown, select Edit Assigned Roles.

  3. From the Edit Assigned Roles window, select the roles to edit.

  4. From the Actions dropdown, select one of the following actions:

    Action

    Description

    Assign to All Selected Users

    Assign the selected roles to the users.

    Unassign from All Selected Users

    Remove the role assignments from the users.

  5. Select Save.

View Assigned Permissions for a User

Xenial Cloud Portal User Management Users

To view the assigned permissions for a Xenial Cloud Portal user:

  1. From the Users homepage, select the user to manage.

  2. From the Actions dropdown, select Edit User.

  3. From the menu pane on the left, select Roles.

  4. Beneath the Roles heading, select Permissions Assigned.

    • The Permissions popup lists all the permissions assigned to the user.

    • In the Permission column, drill down into the role permission categories to access the individual permissions.

    • In the From Role column, view the role that is associated with the permission.

  5. Select Close to close the Permissions popup.

Assign a Site to Multiple Users

To assign a site to multiple Xenial Cloud Portal users:

  1. From the Users homepage, select the users.

  2. From the Actions dropdown, select Edit Assigned Sites.

  3. From the Edit Assigned Sites popup, select Add Site.

  4. From the Site Selector, select the sites to assign.

  5. Select Select [#] Site(s).

  6. Select Save.

Edit Assigned Sites for Multiple Users

To edit the site assignments for multiple Xenial Cloud Portal users:

  1. From the Users homepage, select the users.

  2. From the Actions dropdown, select Edit Assigned Sites.

  3. From the Edit Assigned Sites window, select the sites to edit.

  4. From the Actions dropdown, select one of the following actions:

    • Assign to All Selected Users - Assign the selected sites to the users.

    • Unassign from All Selected Users - Remove the site assignments from the users.

  5. Select Save.
