Kitchen Equipment Setup

The Portal Chef Set Up Menus Set Up Equipment

To set up Kitchen Equipment for a site:

  1. At the top of the panel, select New Equipment.

  2. From the Store Selector, select the site.

    • Alternatively, use the Search field to locate and select the site.

  3. From the Equipment section, use the New Equipment dropdown to select the equipment type.

  4. In the Equipment Setup menu, complete the required fields.

    For more information about the required fields, select the equipment type from the list below:

  5. On the lower-right of the Equipment menu, select Submit.

    • Alternatively, select Reset to erase the data fields and start over, or

    • Select Cancel to exit the menu without changes.

  6. Repeat Passo 3 thru Passo 5 to set up additional kitchen equipment for the same site.

    To set up kitchen equipment for a different site, repeat Passo 2 thru Passo 5.

  7. From the menu list on the left of The Portal, select Sync Changes to Restaurants.

Holding Units

To create a new holding unit:

  1. On the upper-left of the Setup Restaurant Equipment panel, select New Equipment.

  2. From the equipment dropdown menu, select PHU.

The Holding Unit parameters are as follows:

Field

Description

Name

Assign a descriptive name to the equipment.

Typical name assignments are:

  • Main 1

  • Main 2

  • Spec 1

  • Spec 2

Manufacturer

Select the manufacturer of the equipment. Select Other if the manufacturer is not listed.

Model

Select the model of the equipment. Select Other if the model is not listed.

Size

Select the pan size and configuration of the Holding Unit using a Column x Row format.

IP or MAC Address

Type the LAN address of the equipment.

Type the MAC address of the equipment. Chef will discover this equipment on the network.

Copy to Label

PHUs with the same Size and Copy To Label are eligible to copy their pan assignments with the utility outlined in Copy Pan Assignments.

Broiler

The Broiler parameters are as follows:

Name

Assign a descriptive name to the equipment.

Manufacturer

Select the manufacturer of the equipment. Select Other if the manufacturer is not listed.

Model

Select the model of the equipment. Select Other if the model is not listed.

Fryer

The Fryer parameters are as follows:

Name

Assign a descriptive name to the equipment.

Typical name assignments are:

  • Fryer 1

  • Fryer 2

Manufacturer

Select the manufacturer of the equipment. Select Other if the manufacturer is not listed.

Model

Select the model of the equipment. Select Other if the model is not listed.

MAC Address

Type the MAC Address of the equipment.

IP Address

Type the IP Address of the equipment.

Connection Status Frequency

Select how frequently the Network Connection Status is verified.

Filter and Oil Quality Status Frequency

Select how frequently filter and oil quality is checked.

Frypot Status Frequency

Select how frequently the status of the frypot is verified.

Lane Status Frequency

Select how frequently the equipment lane status is verified.

System Status Frequency

Select how frequently the equipment system status is verified.

Offline Events and Messages Frequency

Select how frequently the offline events and messages are verified.

Lane Status During Cook Frequency

Select how frequently the equipment lane status is verified during a cook session.
