Alternate Hierarchy

The Portal Chef Admin Options Chef Alternate Hierarchy

Attenzione

The Chef Alternate Hierarchy is separate from the main hierarchy structure utilized by other Xenial products and requires additional administration and maintenance.

The Chef Alternate Hierarchy only applies to Chef displays. Functions of the Chef Alternate Hierarchy are:

Enable

To enable the Alternate Hierarchy feature:

  1. At the top of the Chef Alternate Hierarchy panel, select Enabled.

    • The main hierarchy structure is initially displayed.

    • To reorder, use the up/down arrows to the left of each listing.

  2. On the upper-left of the Chef Alternate Hierarchy panel, select Save Changes.

  3. From the menu list on the left of The Portal, select Sync Changes to Restaurants.

Create Hierarchy Group

To create a new hierarchy group:

  1. From the Chef Alternate Hierarchy panel, to the right of the group name, select +Add Sub-Group.

    • It is suggested to add sub-groups to the top-most group.

  2. In the New Group Name field, type a group name.

  3. To the right of the New Group Name field, select Add Group.

    • Alternatively, select Cancel to exit without changes.

  4. On the upper-left of the Chef Alternate Hierarchy panel, select Save Changes.

  5. Use the up/down arrows to the left of each group name to reorder the list.

    • New Sub-Groups appear at the bottom of the main hierarchy structure.

  6. On the upper-left of the Chef Alternate Hierarchy panel, select Save Changes.

  7. From the menu list on the left of The Portal, select Sync Changes to Restaurants.

Add Site to a Hierarchy

There are two ways to add a site to a hierarchy group:

Add Button

To add a site to a hierarchy group using Add Restaurant:

  1. From the Chef Alternate Hierarchy panel, to the right of the sub-group, select Add Restaurant.

  2. From the Restaurant dropdown, select the site.

    • Alternatively, use the Enter a Restaurant Number field to search and select the site.

  3. To the right of the Restaurant Number field, select Add.

    • Alternatively, select Cancel to exit without changes.

  4. Repeat Passo 1 thru Passo 3 until all sites are added.

    • Use the up/down arrows to the left of each site to reorder the list.

  5. On the upper-left of the Chef Alternate Hierarchy panel, select Save Changes.

  6. From the menu list on the left of The Portal, select Sync Changes to Restaurants.

Select and Drag

To add a site to a hierarchy group using Select and Drag:

  1. Select and Drag a site to a group or subgroup.

  2. On the upper-left of the Chef Alternate Hierarchy panel, select Save Changes.

  3. From the menu list on the left of The Portal, select Sync Changes to Restaurants.

Delete Group or Site

To delete a hierarchy group or site within a hierarchy group:

  1. From the Chef Alternate Hierarchy panel, to the right of the sub-group or site, select Delete.

  2. On the upper-left of the Chef Alternate Hierarchy panel, select Save Changes.

  3. From the menu list on the left of The Portal, select Sync Changes to Restaurants.

Avvertimento

The Portal is unable to recover a deleted alternate hierarchy group.

Disable

The Portal Chef Admin Options Chef Alternate Hierarchy

Avvertimento

Use caution. Disabling the Alternate Hierarchy feature deletes all changes. The Portal is unable to recover a deleted alternate hierarchy.

To disable the Alternate Hierarchy feature:

  1. At the top of the Chef Alternate Hierarchy panel, select Disabled.

  2. Read the confirmation message; select OK.

    • Alternatively, select Cancel to exit without changes.

  3. From the menu list on the left of The Portal, select Sync Changes to Restaurants.

Manage Access

The Portal Chef Admin Options Manage Chef Alternate Hierarchy Access

Managing the Chef Alternate Hierarchy consists of:

Grant Access

The Portal Chef Admin Options Manage Chef Alternate Hierarchy Access

To grant access to the Chef Alternate Hierarchy:

  1. From the hierarchy list on the left of the Manage User Access panel, select a hierarchy group or individual site.

  2. From the All Users section, select the user(s).

  3. Located above the All Users section, select Allow Selected User(s) Access.

Nota

Anyone with access to the highest level of the hierarchy has access to all sites contained within that hierarchy.

Remove Access

To remove access to the Chef Alternate Hierarchy:

  1. From the hierarchy list on the left of the Manage User Access panel, select a hierarchy group or individual site.

  2. From the Users with Access section, select the user(s).

  3. Located above the All Users section, select Remove Selected User(s).

Invite New User

The Portal Chef Admin Options Manage Chef Alternate Hierarchy Access

To invite a new user:

  1. Below the All Users section, select Invite a New User.

  2. Review the New User Details form and type the information into the following fields:

    • First Name

    • Last Name

    • Title

    • Phone Number

    • Email

  3. In the User Groups field, select the user group(s).

  4. Select Add & Invite User.

    • Alternatively, select Cancel to exit without changes.
