Define the Default Build for a Product

The default build refers to the modifiers/modifier groups that are automatically added to a product by default when the product is ordered.

For example, Ketchup and Mustard are added to the Hamburger product by default. If the customer does not want Mustard, they have to request to exclude it when they order the Hamburger.

To define the default build for a product:

  1. Locate the Default Build section of the Build page of the product record.

    Note

    The Default Build section is only available when a modifier collection is selected from the Modifier Collection section of the Build page.

  2. Select Add Items. The Add Items to Default Build window opens. The modifier groups included in the modifier collection selected for the product are listed.

  3. Select the modifiers/modifier groups to add to the default build list.

  4. Once the desired modifiers/modifier groups are selected, select Add Item(s) -OR- select Cancel to abort the changes.

  5. Define the modifier quantities, if applicable.

  6. Scroll down to Default Build Preparation Instructions and type the kitchen preparation instructions for the product's default build in the provided field.

  7. (Optional) To identify the modifiers that are included when the product is ordered "plain", follow these additional steps:

    • Set the Enable Plain Build toggle to On.

    • Set the Plain Build toggle to Yes next to each modifier/modifier group that is included in the "plain" build.

    • Scroll down to Plain Build Preparation Instructions and type the kitchen preparation instructions for the product's plain build in the provided field.

Tip

To remove a modifier/modifier group from the default build list:

  1. Select the modifier/modifier group from the list.

  2. From the Actions menu, select Remove.
