Define Conversion Settings for a Product

This topic describes how to add existing product variations to a product.

To add the variations that are available for a product at the Ordering application:

  1. Open the Conversion page of the product record.

  2. Select Add Set to open the Add Variation form.

  3. From the Variation Type dropdown list, select the desired type.

    Note

    This dropdown list is populated with records created with the Variant Type editor.

  4. From the Variation Option dropdown list, select the desired variation.

    This dropdown list is populated with records created with the Product Variants editor.

  5. From the Converts To field, select the desired option. The selected option determines which product the current product is converted to when the order taker selects this product variation.

    • Existing product – Convert the product to an existing product on the product list. Select the product variation from the Product dropdown list.

    • New product – Convert the product to a new product that does not yet exist in the product list.

      • In the New Product Name field, type the name of the new product.

      • In the New Product ID field, type an ID number for the product.

      • To duplicate the options from an existing product and assign them to the new product, enable the Duplicate Product toggle. Select the existing product from the Duplicate from Product dropdown list.

    • Current product – Convert the product to the product record currently open in the Product List editor.

  6. Select Save & Close to save the product variation and close the Add Variation form.
