Create a Modifier Group

A modifier group is a collection of similar modifier records. For example, the Condiments modifier group contains the modifier records: Ketchup, Mustard, and Mayonnaise.

Once a modifier group is created, assign the modifier group to a modifier collection using the Modifier Collections editor. See Create a Modifier Collection.

When an order taker adds a product to a customer's order at the Ordering application, the modifier collection assigned to the product is displayed enabling the order taker to modify the product to meet the customer's request.

To create a modifier group:

  1. From the Xenial Portal, select Data Management.

  2. From the Ordering Settings menu, select Modifiers.

  3. Select Modifier Groups.

  4. Select New Modifier Group.

  5. Configure the record as needed.

    • This feature only applies to employees who have the Order.Modifier.BypassForced permission enabled for their role. This permission is located in the XENIAL POS section of Roles management.

  7. Set the Active toggle to Active if the modifier group is available at the site.

    • Multi-site users: Select the globe icon located to the right of the field to define values for each site.

  8. Select the Print in red (where available) option if modifier items in this group should be printed in red ink on receipts and grill tickets.

    • This setting is dependent on the capabilities of the printer.
