Create a Donation

Setup a donation for a charitable cause to which customers can make contributions at the Ordering application.

To create a donation record:

  1. From the Xenial Portal, select Data Management.

  2. From the Ordering Settings menu, select Donations.

  3. Select Create Donation.

  4. In the Donation Name field, type a name for the donation record.

  5. Set the Active toggle to Active if the donation is currently active at the site(s).

    • Multi-site users: Select the globe icon located to the right of the field to define values for each site.

  6. Set the Available On Prompt toggle to On to include the donation on the prompt that is displayed to the cashier on the Ordering application.

    • Configure the terminal scheme to prompt for donations. Set the Prompt Donation on Tender toggle to On in the Donations section of the terminal scheme record.

  7. Configure the default donation amounts to recommend to the customer.

    • Locate the Donations Amounts section.

    • Select Add.

    • From the Type field, select the applicable donation type:

      • Dollar Amount - Define a specific dollar amount. Type the dollar amount in the Amount field.

      • Round Up to Nearest Dollar - Provide the customer with the option to make a donation by rounding up their order total to the nearest dollar.

    • Select Done.

  8. Repeat step 7 to add additional donation amounts as needed.

    • Add up to four donation amounts.

    • Select and drag the control to the left of each donation amount to sort them in the desired sequence.

Note

  • A "Custom Amount" option is also available on the donations screen at the Ordering application. This option enables the customer to define their own donation amount.

  • Customers can add donations to orders on demand and on system prompt. This is configured in the Donations section of the terminal scheme record. See Create a Terminal Scheme for more detailed instructions.
