Toggle Options

The following describes the options in the Toggle Options section of the Kitchen Screen Settings editor.



Enable Hierarchy

Display order items in a hierarchical view.

If disabled, all order items are displayed on the same level.

Show Modifiers

Display order item modifiers (e.g. No Ketchup, Extra Lettuce).

Show Children

Display child items (i.e. side items, beverages).

Show Children as Parent

Detach child items from their parent item and display child items like parent items.

Enable Consolidation

Combine like order items on a ticket instead of listing the items individually.

Item Priority

Define how order items are sorted on a kitchen ticket to ensure the kitchen staff prepares orders in the most expeditious manner.

Enable Item Priority to sort order items in the following sequence:

  • Item Priority > Sequence Number > Serial Number > Arrival Time

    • In this sequence, an order item flagged as a priority item is displayed ahead of non-priority items on the kitchen ticket.

Disable Item Priority to sort order items in the following sequence:

  • Sequence Number > Serial Number > Arrival Time

    • In this sequence, standard order items and order items flagged as priority items are displayed in the sequence in which they are received.

Show Upstream Indicators

Enforce upstream bumping. Display upstream indicators next to each order item to indicate its upstream status.

Upstream bumping enables the staff to control the sequence in which order items are bumped from kitchen displays to ensure a customer's order is fulfilled completely and correctly.

Keep Discounts

Display applied order discounts on the kitchen ticket.

  • Item-level discounts are indented below the respective order item.

  • Order-level discounts are displayed directly above the footer.

    • If more than one order-level discount is applied, "Discount: Multiple Discounts" is displayed.

Upstream Recall

Recall an order to all upstream monitors when it is recalled from a downstream monitor.

Recall Orders to First Cell

Display a recalled bumped order in the first cell of the display when it is recalled to the active orders list.

Pending Animation

Select the order states that should display the pending animation "..." on the kitchen ticket.

The "..." animation is displayed while the order is in a Pending state.

Show Average Service Time

Display the average service time in the footer of the kitchen display to notify the kitchen staff of their average Speed-of-Service (SoS).

Service time is calculated by subtracting the "Bump Time" of an order from its "Sent Time". The average service time is displayed on the kitchen display in a defined time interval.

When Show Average Service Time is enabled, specify the interval at which to calculate the average service time:

  • Select one of the provided intervals or select Custom to specify a custom interval.

  • In the Set average service time field, type the custom interval (in minutes).

Show Deleted Items

Display deleted items (itemstate=VOIDED).


Group order items on kitchen tickets in relation to their assigned seat/tray.

Always Bump Indicator Ready

Set the upstream indicator for all order items to the ready position.


Display kitchen ticket watermarks in row view.

Enable Super Headers

Display a super header on the kitchen ticket.

A super header is a visual indicator that lets the kitchen staff know an order no longer requires preparation, such as a Cleared, Deleted, or Voided order.

Print on Bump

Print a kitchen slip at the local printer when an order is bumped.

Filter Bump Indicator

Do NOT display upstream indicators for order items that do not have upstreams.

Enable Premature Order Animation

Display order animation instead of the order timer before an order is finalized.

Send Bump Events

Send order bump time data to XKM subscribers (or third-party integrators).

Order "bump time" is the time it takes to bump an order from the kitchen screen once it is received from the Ordering application.

Bump time data is used to calculate speed-of-service reports.
