Kitchen Displays
Order information sent from the Ordering application is displayed on "tickets" on the kitchen displays. The system administrator can set up the kitchen displays to only display particular types of order items.
For example, grill items like Hamburgers and Chicken Breasts are routed to the Grill display, while fried items like French Fries and Chicken Tenders are routed to the Fryer display.
The kitchen displays can also be set up to only display order items for particular order destinations, such as Dine In or Drive Thru.
This section includes the following topics about kitchen displays.

Split Screen Displays
Stores with limited resources and/or a small number of kitchen displays may use split screen displays. This setup enables the kitchen staff to view and interact with two different views (e.g. Grill and Fryer) on a single kitchen display.
Optionally use a split screen display during low volume business hours when one employee is responsible for more than one kitchen station.
The first view occupies the upper-half of a split screen and the second view occupies the lower-half. The Title Bar is displayed at the bottom of each view.
Order items received from the Ordering application are routed to the appropriate view based on configuration.

Split screen displays are only supported in Row View.

Upstream Status Displays
Opmerking
The following is an optional feature that is configured by the system administrator.
Orders and combo meals are typically prepared at two or more different stations prior to final assembly and delivery to the customer.
The Upstream Status feature enables the kitchen staff to monitor the status of order items at other stations. Order items can only be bumped from the station displays once all items associated with the order are prepared.
Example
In this example, there are three kitchen displays: Front Counter, Fryer, and Grill.
A customer orders the Hamburger combo meal, which includes the items Hamburger, Fries, and Beverage.
The combo meal components are routed to the kitchen displays as follows:
Kitchen Display | Combo Meal Components |
---|---|
Front Counter | Sandwich, Fries, Beverage |
Fryer | Fries |
Grill | Hamburger |
Order Item Status Indicators
In an upstream status configuration, an order item status indicator is displayed next to each parent (or base-level) item to indicate its upstream status. Status indicators are not displayed next to child items or modifiers.
The following table describes the two types of status indicators.
Status Indicator | Description |
---|---|
![]() | Order item preparation is in progress. This indicator persists until the order item is bumped from the station display where the item is prepared. |
![]() |
|
Example
The Expo display monitors the upstream status of items at the Grill and Fryer stations.
The Hamburger item is routed to both the Expo and Grill stations.
The
indicator is displayed next to the Hamburger on the Expo monitor to indicate the item is “in progress” at the Grill station.
The Fried Chicken is prepared and bumped from the Fryer monitor.
The
indicator is displayed next to Fried Chicken on the Expo monitor to indicate that preparation at the Fryer station is complete.
Order Ready Display
An Order Ready display is positioned in the customer waiting area enabling the customer to see the status of their order.
While a customer's order is prepared in the kitchen, the customer's name appears in the In Progress section on the display.
When the order is ready, the customer's name appears in the Ready section. In an Upstream Status environment, the customer's order remains in the In Progress column until all their order items are bumped from all Upstream Status displays.
Orders are automatically removed from the "Ready" section after a configurable amount of time. This expiration value is defined by your system administrator.
Opmerking
If a customer name is not associated with the order, the order number is displayed.
Depending on system configuration, the orientation of the Order Ready display is either vertical or horizontal.
