Create an Order Screen

To create an order screen:

  1. From the Xenial Portal, select Data Management.

  2. From the Ordering Settings menu, select Settings.

  3. From the Settings menu, select Open Orders>Order Screens.

  4. Select New Order Screen.

  5. Configure the record as needed.

Define General Settings for an Order Screen

To define general settings for an order screen:

  1. In the Name field, type a name for the order screen.

  2. In the Description field, type a description of the order screen including the content it displays.

  3. Set the Active toggle to Active if the order screen is currently available to use.

    • Multi-site users: Select the globe icon located to the right of the field to define values for each site.

  4. Set the Order Preview toggle to On to enable the order preview feature. When enabled, a preview of the order is displayed when the user selects the corresponding Order Card.

    When this feature is disabled, the order is immediately resumed at the Order Entry screen when the user selects the corresponding Order Card.

The following describes how to:

Add an Existing Order Lane

To add an existing order lane to an order screen:

  1. Locate the Order Lanes section of the order screen record.

  2. From the Add Lanes dropdown, select Add Existing.

  3. From the Add Order Lane window, select the order lane(s) to add.

  4. Select Add Item(s).

  5. From the Order Lanes section, select and drag the control to the left of the listed lanes to rank them from highest-to-lowest (where the lane at the top of the list has the highest rank).

  6. Select Save.

Add a New Order Lane

To add a new order lane to an order screen:

  1. Locate the Order Lanes section of the order screen record.

  2. From the Add Lanes dropdown, select Add New to open the Create Lane window.

Define General Settings for an Order Lane

To general settings for an order lane:

  1. From the pane on the left, open the General page.

  2. Locate the General Information section.

    • In the Name field, type the name to display in the order lane header.

    • In the Description field, type a description of the order lane including the content it displays.

    • Set Online Order Toggle to On to display the online ordering status in this lane's header. This is only recommended for lanes that are dedicated to online orders.

  3. Locate the Create Orders From Lane section.

    • Set the Allow Order Creation toggle to On to include a New Order shortcut in this lane. A user can select the shortcut to create a new order to add to the lane.

      • From the Default Destination dropdown, select the order destination to assign to a new order that is created with the shortcut.

        If an order destination is not selected, the default destination assigned for the terminal scheme is used.

Add Lane Filters to an Order Lane

To refine the type of content to display in the order lane:

  1. From the pane on the left, open the Lane Filters page.

  2. From the Configuration Type dropdown, select the type of lane filter to add.

    • Basic - Define simple order filters.

    • Advanced - Define complex order filters.

Basic Configuration

To define an order filter for the Basic configuration type:

  1. From the Filter section, select Add Filter. The Add Filter window opens.

  2. From the Filter Key dropdown, select an order property to filter.

  3. From the Condition dropdown, select the applicable condition for the selected filter key.

  4. From the Values list, select the filter key value.

  5. Select Add.

Basic filter examples:

  • Terminal Is Not Reg1 - Orders entered at Reg1 will not be displayed in this lane.

  • Destination Is Carry Out - Only orders assigned the Carry Out order destination will be displayed in this lane.

  • Origin Is Not Kiosk - Orders that originate from the Kiosk will not be displayed in this lane.

Advanced Configuration

To define an order filter for the Advanced configuration type:

  1. From the Add Key dropdown, select an order property to filter.

  2. From the second dropdown, select the applicable condition for the selected filter key.

  3. From the Select Key Value dropdown, select the applicable condition for the selected filter key.

  4. Select ADD.

  5. Use the controls to the right of the ADD button to define relationships between the order filters.

Advanced filter examples:

  • Terminal Is Reg1 AND Destination Is Carry Out - Only orders entered at Reg1 with an order destination of Carry Out will be displayed in this lane.

  • Payment Status Is Paid OR Payment Status Is Awaiting Tip - Only orders with a payment status of Paid or Awaiting Tip will be displayed in this lane.

  • Order Source Is Not Mobile App AND Destination Is Not Eat In - Orders from any order source other than Mobile App that have been assigned any order destination other than Eat In will be displayed in this lane.

Add Sorting Rules to an Order Lane

To add sort rules to an order lane:

  1. From the pane on the left, open the Sorting Rules page.

  2. Select Add Sort Rule to open the Add Sort Rules window.

    • From the Key dropdown, select an order property to sort.

    • From the Direction dropdown, select the sorting direction for the selected key.

      • Ascending - Sort the key from lowest to highest or A-Z.

      • Descending - Sort the key from highest to lowest or Z-A.

    • Select Apply.

  3. Select and drag the control to the left of the listed rules to rank them from highest-to-lowest (where the rule at the top of the list has the highest rank).

  4. Select Save.
