Chef Tools Configuration Menus
The Chef Tools Configuration Menus are available through the Chef Tools Gear icon located at the lower-right of the Chef screen.
The following Chef Tools Configuration Menus are available:
Basic Settings

To change a setting on the Basic Menu:
Select the option(s) to change.
For more information, see Basic Settings Details.
On the lower-left of the panel, select Save.
Alternatively, from the lower-right of the panel, select Reset changes to revert changes.
On the lower-right of the Chef display, select the Gear icon to exit the Chef Tools menu.
Basic Settings Details

The Chef Tools Basic Configuration Menu contains the following settings:
Setting | Action |
---|---|
Region | Select the region/location of the site from the dropdown. |
Time zone | Select the time zone for the site from the dropdown. |
Temperature type | Select the preferred temperature type from the dropdown. |
Date Format | Select the date format from the dropdown. |
Language | Select the display language from the dropdown. |
Holding Unit Type | Select the Holding Unit manufacturer from the dropdown. |
Manual Pan Load Settings | Select the manual load pan settings from the dropdown. |
Allow Pan Swap | The toggle indicates if holding unit pan swaps are allowed. The default is OFF. Pan swap allows the kitchen team to swap pan positions while retaining pan information such as item name, quantity, and time remaining. |
PHU Volume | Set the volume of the Holding Unit alerts with the slider. |
Projection Configurations

To change a setting on the Projections Menu:
Select the option(s) to change.

On the lower-left of the panel, select Save.
Alternatively, from the lower-right of the panel, select Default to reset changes.
On the lower-right of the Chef display, select the Gear icon to exit the Chef Tools menu.
Projection Configuration Settings

The Chef Tools Projection Configuration Menu contains the following settings:
Setting | Action |
---|---|
Auto Trending By Sales Data | When enabled, Chef references the previous 2 hours of sales data to adjust projections and account for an increase or decrease in actual sales. The sliders for Maximum Reduction Percentage and Minimum Reduction Percentage determine to what extent the projection is increased or decreased. |
Maximum Reduction Percentage | Adjust the Maximum Reduction Percentage used to adjust the Auto Trending By Sales Data calculation with the slider. This setting influences the decrease in the projection quantity. |
Maximum Increase Percentage | Adjust the Maximum Increase Percentage used to adjust the Auto Trending By Sales Data calculation with the slider. This setting influences the increase in the projection quantity. |
All Ingredients | Increase or decrease the projections of all products with the slider. When used alone, the slider percentage affects all products. |
Per Ingredient | Limit the items that are affected by the All Ingredients slider with the toggle. |
Network Settings Details

The Chef Network Settings are read only. The following network details are provided:

System

Chef Tools Configuration System displays the connectivity status of Ethernet-capable kitchen devices. If a device is not Ethernet-capable, the connection status reads as No network installed.
Reload UI

From the lower-right of the System menu, select Reload UI to reload the Chef browser.
Touchscreen Calibration

To calibrate the touchscreen:
From the lower-right of the System menu, select Start Touchscreen Calibration.
A gray screen appears with a red crosshair in the upper-left. Touch the center of the crosshair.
The crosshair turns white when a touch is registered.
Touch the center of the red crosshair as it appears in the remaining three corners of the screen.
The System menu appears once calibration is completed.
Opmerking
If a crosshair touch is not registered, the calibration process starts over, with the red crosshair appearing in the upper-left.
